After Nine Months In Space, NASA Astronauts Reflect On The Support They Received From National Leaders

Two NASA astronauts, Suni Williams and Barry Eugene “Butch” Wilmore, were unexpectedly stuck in space for 286 days due to a technical issue.

They were originally scheduled to be in space for eight days. However, a problem with their return capsule caused them to be “stranded” in space and separated from their families for around nine months.

The NASA Astronauts Finally Return Home

Recently, Elon Musk, the owner of SpaceX and head of DOGE, collaborated with President Trump to launch a SpaceX Dragon capsule that successfully brought the astronauts back to Earth.

Upon their arrival, Williams remarked that it felt “weird” to be back on Earth. According to a BBC report, the first thing she did was lie down in bed. She said,
“(I) went to bed, felt good. Laying down on a bed for the first time in nine months was pretty awesome.”

Williams and Wilmore recently spoke with Fox News about their experiences in space and the emotional impact of being away from their families. They reflected on their ordeal and expressed their gratitude in a special message to Musk and President Donald Trump.

The Astronauts Share Message With Donald Trump And Elon Musk

In a post shared by Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, a young adult conservative movement, a short clip shows the astronauts speaking directly to the president and Musk as they express their sentiments.
