Taylor Swift shares how she came up with her Eras tour as it comes to an end

There’s no denying that Taylor Swift’s latest tour will go down in the history books.

Taylor Swift wraps up her record-breaking tour in Canada, with the final show on December 8 in Vancouver. To celebrate, she dropped an Eras Tour book on Black Friday and an Anthology vinyl of her Tortured Poets Department album.

Many fans camped outside of Target to be the first to get their hands on the book. And when they did they learned new information about the tour that the never knew – even how the tour got its name and concept.

Normally, the star would have embarked on a tour centered around her most recent album at the time, Midnights. But Taylor had a different idea.

“I’ll never forget the call when I explained the concept for the Eras Tour to my team,” Taylor wrote in the book. She told them: “We’re going to call it the Eras Tour and each album will have its own chapter, its own world.”

The 35-year-old claimed she had “fallen back in love” with her older albums when she was re-recording them. Taylor has been releasing her old albums in recent years as “Taylor’s Version” after she lost control of her masters.

Revisiting her albums inspired Taylor to create the Eras Tour, embracing each era musically, stylistically, and aesthetically. She designed the tour to celebrate fans, from day-one supporters to newcomers.

To tackle the 45-song setlist and three-hour performances, Taylor focused on health, fitness, and stamina with discipline and commitment.

Besides finding out about how the Eras Tour came about, fans also got a glimpse into the show’s choreography. In the book, Taylor shared a choreography choice that happens during her song Mastermind.

We recreate a chessboard and when I signal the dancers to move to different spots on the board, they actually create the exact sequence for a checkmate,” she noted.
