Taylor Swift Says Performing Eras Tour Milan Shows ‘Was a Dream Come True’: ‘2 of My Favorite Crowds Ever’
The people of Milan showed Taylor Swift a good time.
After the 34-year-old pop superstar performed two shows at San Siro in the Italian city on July 13 and 14, she posted to Instagram. She expressed gratitude in a heartfelt post.
“WOW. MILAN,” began Swift’s caption on July 15. “Those were truly 2 of my favorite crowds ever.”
The Grammy winner continued, “The passion and generosity you showed us… it was a dream come true to perform for you. Grazi mille!! We’ll be back!!”
Swift’s Milan shows were quite eventful. During the July 13 performance, she started coughing after swallowing a bug during the secret songs segment of the Eras Tour.
“I knew it would happen ’cause there’s so many bugs here tonight,” she told the concerned crowd. This occurred amid a surprise mashup of “I Almost Do” and “The Moment I Knew,” both from Red.
“It’ll be fine, I just need to cough a little,” added Swift before moving on with the rest of the performance. Similar incidents occurred during Era Tours shows in London in June and in Chicago in 2023.
The “All Too Well” singer-songwriter also debuted new outfits during her Milan shows. On July 13, Swift wore a new Roberto Cavalli minidress by creative director Fausto Puglisi, who was also at the show.
The same day, Swift changed up her Vivienne Westwood dress for the Tortured Poets Department era. While the ensemble usually features “Fortnight” lyrics on the skirt, the new version in Milan had lyrics to “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” instead.
Additionally, while performing a mashup of Reputation’s “Getaway Car” and “Out of the Woods” in Milan on July 14, Swift experienced a piano malfunction.
“We’ve finally broken this thing,” Swift told the crowd, peering under the piano’s lid in a TikTok-shared fan video. A crew member tried to fix the instrument.
According to a different fan’s video on X (formerly Twitter) shows the triumphant moment after the piano was fixed. Swift closed the lid and said, “Oh, I did it!”
The ongoing European leg of the Eras Tour continues with three shows at Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, from July 17-19.
Swift will then perform shows throughout Germany, Poland, Austria and England before concluding the run on Aug. 20. After that, the Eras Tour will head back to the United States from Oct. 18 through Dec. 8.
