Dog Runs Half Marathon By Mistake After being Let Out To Potty, Finishes 7th

I love that they handed the dog a medal.

He goes out to pee and comes back with a medal.
The runners were joined by a dog who was let out for a toilet break during the Elkmont Trackless Train Half Marathon in Canada.
Ludivine, the adorable police dog, escaped by crawling under the park gate and running towards the start of the race. Ludivine did well on this unplanned trip, finishing eighth in the race despite stopping at the two-mile point to smell a dead rabbit.

The dog even pulled out of the way several times, as if he was going to play with a herd of cows.

Even though he crossed the road in an hour and a half, he managed to have a great time and place while still having a lot of fun.

Elkmont’s Half Dog’s official Facebook page included photos of the adorable Ludivine running the half marathon.

Ludivine received a medal for her efforts, and her owner, April Hamlin, 41, was delighted with her pet’s performance.

“All I did was open the door, and he or she ran the race on their own,” she told Runner’s World magazine.

“My first reaction was embarrassment and concern that she might have gotten in the way of the other contestants.” “She’s very laid back and friendly, so I’m surprised she ran the full half marathon because she’s actually really lazy,” Hamlin continued.

“Every time I assumed she left to go home, I heard her coming back to me,” said Jim Clemens, who finished fourth in the half marathon. So he runs away from me and runs to the two leaders. She would sneak away to frolic across the streams and in the yards to catch a quick breath.

Congratulations, Ludivine!
