Taylor Swift ’embarrassed’ by team member during emotional visit to children’s hospital
Taylor Swift had a tense moment with one of her team members during a recent visit to a children’s hospital.
The 35-year-old singer went to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City last Thursday to spend time with patients and their families.
As she was leaving, Taylor found herself in an awkward confrontation with someone from her entourage. The uncomfortable moment was caught on camera, sparking widespread praise for how she handled the situation.
In the video, Taylor can be seen exiting the hospital, surrounded by security and staff. As she walked down a hallway, a fan filming her yelled, “Thank you for coming.” Taylor smiled and waved, but things took a turn when a woman accompanying her began chastising the fan for recording.
“You’re not supposed to be filming,” the woman said angrily.
However, Taylor quickly intervened, grabbing the woman by the shoulders and turning her body away from the fan. “It’s okay, it’s okay,” she reassured.
The video was posted on Facebook by KCTV5 Anchor Sharon Chen and quickly went viral after being shared on X (formerly Twitter). Many fans applauded Taylor for her calm and kind reaction, while others criticized the staff member for causing the awkward situation.
“The way she grabbed that lady by both arms to shut her up. Tay said no being rude on my watch,” one person commented. Another said, “We do NOT deserve her at all. Not in the slightest. Not even a little bit. Not even at all.” Others criticized the staff member, with one person writing, “Not the old lady embarrassing her omg it’s a hospital worker [filming] not some paparazzi.” Another user added, “That pink jacket lady needs to chill.”
Taylor’s response to the situation earned her praise, with one fan saying, “Her quickly trying to shuffle the lady away from telling the camera off is so real.” Another simply called her, “The cutest.”
During her visit, Taylor spoke to a little girl and asked what she wanted for Christmas. The girl replied that she wanted a brand-new Dyson Airwrap, which costs around $600. Taylor later sent her the hair tool, along with a note that said, “In case Santa doesn’t come through.”
Taylor was joined by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, during the visit. Although they weren’t pictured together at the hospital, their joint visit shows the couple is spending quality time together after the conclusion of Taylor’s massive Eras Tour, which wrapped up on December 7. Sources say Taylor is “exhausted but so grateful” and “looking forward” to spending the holidays with her Kansas City Chiefs player beau.
