Travis Kelce First Talked Taylor Swift and Friendship Bracelets 1 Year Ago While Making Them for NFL Buddies

Travis Kelce has three Super Bowl rings, but it’s another accessory that has his fans excited about celebrating.

Last July, the Kansas City Chiefs star, 34, gave friendship bracelets to fellow NFL players at his Tight End University. This gesture was a nod to Taylor Swift. Just a few weeks later, he professed his interest in the pop superstar on his podcast “New Heights.”

“So it’s my third year here at Tight End University,” Kelce says in a video from a fan account on X (formerly Twitter). “I thought what better way than to welcome the guys with friendship bracelets, take a page out of Taylor Swift’s book.”

On July 26, in an episode of his and brother Jason Kelce’s podcast, Travis joked about how he tried to give Swift his phone number. This happened before a stop on her Eras Tour concert a few weeks earlier, on July 8. However, Travis revealed that he wasn’t able to speak with her. He was told she was saving her voice for the show.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” Travis said at the time. “She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal.”

Just weeks later, Swift, 34, was publicly linked to the Chiefs star when she attended a game at Arrowhead Stadium.

“Shout out to Taylor for pulling up. That was pretty ballsy,” Travis later said on his podcast as he talked to his brother about how he felt having the singer in his suite during the “exciting game.”

“I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her — the friends and family. “She looked amazing, and everybody was talking about her in great light,” he said. Travis added that the cherry on top was that “the day went perfect for Chiefs fans, of course,” noting their 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears.

A week later, the team had a little fun with the rumored relationship by posting a video on TikTok of Chiefs players exchanging friendship bracelets.

“This is something my little sister would give me,” joked defensive tackle Chris Jones. Other players, like cornerback L’Jarius Sneed and wide receiver Rashee Rice, accepted the accessory with open arms.

However, when Kelce was presented with one that said “Killa Trav,” he smiled and allowed: “I know what these are all about.”
