Travis Kelce Reveals the One Rule He Followed While Carrying Taylor Swift Onstage: ‘Don’t Drop the Baby’
Travis Kelce is still riding high.
He joined Taylor Swift onstage during a surprise appearance at her Eras Tour stop in London. However, he did have some nerves about one part of his big moment.
On the latest episode of his “New Heights” podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis explained that carrying Swift onstage was governed by a specific rule. “The one thing I told myself is, do not drop the baby. Do not drop Taylor on your way over this damn couch. The golden rule was do not drop Taylor, get her to the couch safely,” he said.
Earlier in the episode, Kelce, 34, discussed how the cameo moment happened. “I initially mentioned it to Tay,” he told his brother. “I was like, ‘How funny would it be if I just rolled out on one of the bikes during the 1989 era.'”
Swift, 34, initially laughed at the idea, Kelce said, before asking, “‘Would you seriously be up for doing something like that?’
He continued, adding, “I was just like, ‘What? I would love to do that, are you kidding me?’ I’ve seen the show enough — might as well put me to work here. And sure enough, she found the perfect part of the show for me to come in.”
Elsewhere in the episode he teased listeners with the idea of making another appearance with Swift onstage.
“Shout out to Tay for letting me jump on stage with her. Who knows? Might not be the last time,” he said. “You guys will have to keep showing up to the Eras Tour to see if I pop out of the stage or whatnot.”
“Yeah. I told her I was like, ‘Yeah, no. This is how it works. Once I get comfortable, I just stop listening to what everyone says, and I start doing my own thing,’” he added.
