Taylor Swift’s Onstage Error Takes Off Online
Taylor Swift is in the middle of her record-breaking Eras Tour and while the pop superstar is a professional, that doesn’t mean sometimes mistakes aren’t made, such as that highlighted in a video of a recent concert in Scotland that has gone viral.
A recent onstage incident occurred in Scotland during Edinburgh Night 1 on June 7. Swift almost missed standing on the correct part of the stage in time for the steps to appear while she was singing “Wildest Dreams.”
Without missing a beat the singer managed to climb onto the steps, which were already rising.
A video of the incident was posted to X, formerly Twitter, by user @thisisvertrying.
“not taylor being in the wrong place when the stage started moving,” the account captioned the post. At the time of writing, it had been viewed 727,200 times.
People took to the comments to share their admiration for the singer and her professionalism.
“Okay, but how did she step that high while singing and not even missing a breath? Because I would get a leg cramp,” one person commented.
“So smooth ! She is a pro and handled it perfectly !” someone else wrote.
“Nice recovery though. :),” said another.
A fourth added: “Handled it like the pro she is.”
Others said the error wasn’t Swift’s fault but a mistake that was made behind the scenes.
“Stage def moved too early cause even the background singers had to scramble to their places,” a different X user wrote.
“This is a bad call by a stage manager or automation team leader. Someone always watches the talent and waits to call the ‘go’ until they’re where they’re supposed to be. Scenic pieces, especially mechanical ones, are controlled in real-time,” said another.
The original video was uploaded by @KookiesnJKream, who captioned the post: “Correct me if I’m wrong but I think Taylor was in the wrong spot for the Wildest Dreams lift on Edinburgh N1! Her reaction was so cute! Another addition to the Errors Tour?”
In a TikTok video of the viral moment, Swift sings the line, “Lights, camera, b****, smile,” while dancer Kam Saunders waves out the feathered fan, which accidentally catches the “But Daddy I Love Him” artist right in the cheek.
