Taylor Swift’s Sweet Nod to Travis Kelce Shows How Important He Was to the Eras Tour
It’s hard to believe the Eras Tour is officially over.
After 19 months touring the globe, Taylor Swift closed this chapter of her career and honored Travis Kelce on the final night.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce missed the Vancouver show due to his team’s win against the Chargers, but Taylor Swift made sure he wasn’t forgotten. Fans went wild when Swift gave the audience one last “Karma” lyrics change. “Karma is “the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me” had Swifties screaming in delight.
They noticed Swift’s archer pose during “So High School,” rumored to be about Kelce. He often uses a similar move after big plays. The sweet connection lies in Swift’s choreography for “The Archer,” which has featured this move since 2019—years before they dated. Perhaps they inspire each other?
Even though Kelce couldn’t attend Swift’s last performance, he certainly made his mark on the Eras Tour.
Travis Kelce, 35, tried to spark romance by offering Taylor Swift his number on a bracelet at her July 26, 2023, concert, later shari
ng on his podcast, New Heights, that she saves her voice for her 44-song set.
The rumors began to heat up about their possible meet-cute moment and Swift confirmed it by attending his Sept. 24, 2023, game — and Swifties have never been the same. The duo traveled the globe supporting each other, culminating on June 23 in the U.K., where Kelce joined Swift onstage in a coat and tails for “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”
The next step for Swift and Kelce is to just slow down. “Taylor and Travis are eager to spend quality time together because [that’s when] the little nuances about someone’s personality and habits come into play. They will learn so much about each other,” an Us Weekly insider explained. “Taylor does feel like Travis is The One, but jumping in is not her style. That’s just not how she does [things]. Marriage is a big deal, and she wants [it to be] forever.”
It’s the end — and the beginning — of an era.
