Taylor Swift fans celebrate as Scooter Braun steps back from music management

Previously managing stars like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, Scooter Braun’s brand has declined as artists left his roster. He is infamous among Swifties for acquiring Taylor Swift’s early works in a contentious 2018 deal. This acquisition ultimately led her to decide to re-record her albums.

Scooter ultimately cashed in Taylor’s masters for a cool $300 million (around £236 million). Now, news has broken of his pivot away from the music scene to prioritize family and take up the reins as CEO of HYBE’s American branch, part of the South Korean company. It’s safe to say that Swift’s loyal legions are celebrating.

Reacting to the reports of Braun’s shift in career, one fan remarked online: “What going against Taylor cost you……all the other tayrtriers, take note! ” Another added their voice to the victorious choir: “That tayvoodoo.”

Taylor’s Virtual Fan Army Reacts

Taylor’s virtual fan army wasn’t far behind in joining the frenzy, with tweets flying such as: “And nothing but loud cheers were heard across the world.”

A lyrical reference flew in from a second, citing The Tortured Poets Department track: “And I’ll say, ‘Good riddance’.”

Chimes of Taylor Swift Midnights, Track 11, rang out a clear nod to the aptly-named song Karma, while another devotee brought actual lyrics into play, quoting: “Karma’s a relaxing thought.”

Another fan quoted lyrics from the song “Karma,” writing: “Ask me what I learned from all those years.”

They continued, “Ask me what I earned from all those tears.”

Lastly, they added, “Ask me why so many fade, but I’m still here.”

In his statement, Scooter said he had been a music manager since he was 19 in Atlanta, Georgia. “I think I have wanted this for a while, but I was truly afraid to answer the question, ‘Who would I be without them?'” he added, “It’s all I had known.”

About his family, Scooter added, “As my children got older, and my personal life took some hits.” He continued, “I came to the realization that my kids were 3 superstars I wasn’t willing to lose.” The sacrifices I was once willing to make I could no longer justify.”

Scooter shares three children with his ex-wife Yael Cohen. They have a son born in 2015, another son born in 2016, and a daughter born in 2018. He and Yael were married from 2014 to 2021.
