Faith in Jesus: Tyler Hubbard’s Journey of Peace

Faith in Jesus changed the life of country star Tyler Hubbard, guiding him through pain, loss, and spiritual growth. His story shows how trusting Jesus can turn heartbreak into peace, especially during the most difficult times of life.

Tyler Hubbard Shares the Peace Faith in Jesus Brought After Loss

On November 5, country artist Tyler Hubbard, formerly part of Florida Georgia Line, joined the Christian podcast The Upload with Brooke Taylor. During the conversation, he opened his heart about faith in Jesus and how it shapes his everyday life. Brooke Taylor asked him what faith means to him, and he replied, “Well, I would say that’s a fairly loaded question, but ultimately, to simplify it, I think it’s just believing in something that you don’t always see, you know what I mean?”

Faith as a Relationship With Jesus

Tyler explained that his faith is not about religion alone but about connection and trust. He said, “It’s just about [a] relationship, you know what I mean? A relationship with Jesus. For me, that’s what’s grown my faith. You do see Him, you do hear Him, at times, you can almost touch Him where it feels like, through life experiences and through different scenarios and prayer and all the things, He’s everywhere.” His words show that faith in Jesus grows stronger through real experiences, prayer, and daily life moments.

Childhood Faith Built a Strong Foundation

He continued, “I’ve grown a lot in my faith over the last … five years or so, but faith has always been a part of my life. Growing up, I was very fortunate to have parents who pursued Jesus and taught me His ways and showed me His love.” Reading the Bible with his parents and attending church built habits that shaped his adult life. That early guidance set the stage for how he later handled grief and loss. Tyler often credits his parents’ faith for helping him stand strong when life broke his heart.

The Pain of Losing His Father

Tragedy came when his father, Roy Wayne Hubbard, died in a helicopter crash on February 24, 2007. Tyler was only 20 years old. The accident changed everything, yet faith in Jesus became his anchor. He shared that the event could have destroyed him, but God met him there. His song “Miss My Daddy,” from his 2023 self-titled album, captures both his sadness and his hope:

“Miss the way I had it back when he was ’round. Might’ve took it all for granted then, but I sure wouldn’t now. It’s hard for me to understand why You took him when You did, Lord, and I can’t wait to see his face again.”

Tyler also carries his father’s memory through a portrait tattoo by artist Kat Von D. More than an image, it serves as a reminder of love and faith that continues beyond loss.

Choosing Trust Over Anger Through Faith in Jesus

Recalling that day, Tyler said, “It happened in my backyard. It was a helicopter crash, and it was super graphic, and I was just shook.” He remembered walking away and talking to God. “As I was walking away from that, I remember, like, just standing there and talking to God, and being like, ‘Alright, like, I know how this story plays out. I can get made at You right now and I can go down this road, or I can lean on You and trust You.’”

He added, “I feel like this was the moment I was training for my whole childhood.” Even though the loss hurt deeply, his faith in Jesus helped him choose peace. Tyler said, “Sometimes, you’ve just got to make a choice. The second I made that choice, I felt the embrace and I felt the peace, and I was like, ‘That makes no sense.’” Choosing faith over anger gave him the peace he still carries today.

Walking in Faith With His Wife

Faith in Jesus continues to shape Tyler’s family life. His wife, Hayley, has been growing in her faith as well. Tyler said, “It’s been really cool to sort of watch her journey, but, alongside her, just be there with her and support her, which has helped me grow in my faith.” Together, they encourage each other to stay grounded in God’s Word. This teamwork reflects Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”

Tyler also began reading the entire Bible for the first time. “I’m not much of a reader, at all, to be honest, so it’s always intimidated me,” he admitted. Using The One-Year Bible plan, he spends about twenty minutes each morning reading Scripture and drinking coffee. He said he “tested the waters” first and quickly found joy in studying God’s Word daily.

Living Daily With Faith in Jesus

Today, Tyler lives each day as proof that faith in Jesus brings renewal. His life reflects how choosing trust can turn tragedy into strength. When his world fell apart, his relationship with Jesus kept him standing. He continues to grow spiritually while creating music that inspires others. His message reminds listeners that peace does not come from avoiding pain but from walking through it with Jesus.

For anyone facing grief, Tyler’s journey offers real hope. He shows that faith in Jesus is not just belief—it is a daily choice. It means turning to God when life feels unfair and trusting Him to bring peace where none seems possible. Tyler Hubbard’s life proves that when you lean on Jesus, even deep sorrow can bloom into lasting strength and peace.
