Anonymous Tip Sparks Search In Nancy Guthrie Case (Instagram/Savannah Guthrie)
Savannah Guthrie’s Mother Nancy Reported As Missing
Over four months have passed since Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing on February 1. To this day, the investigation into her disappearance remains active. Authorities believe she may have been abducted late at night from her home in Tucson, Arizona.
Despite extensive efforts, investigators have not identified any strong suspects or major leads. Family members, friends, and supporters continue raising awareness and sharing her story in the hope that new information will help bring her home safely.

Details Surrounding The Complicated Case
Since Nancy’s disappearance, the case has been extremely complicated and confusing. In the weeks that followed, multiple ransom notes were sent to media outlets, but none have been traced to a prime suspect.
On February 5, Camron Guthrie, brother of Savannah, issued a video plea to those responsible for the disappearance of their mother.
Camron’s video was posted to Savannah’s Instagram account moments after the first of two deadlines mentioned in a ransom note passed.
“Whoever is out there holding our mother, we want to hear from you. We haven’t heard anything directly. We need you to reach out, and we need a way to communicate with you so we can move forward. But first we need to know that you have our mom. We want to talk to you and we are waiting for contact,” Camron said in the video.
A later development in the investigation came when the FBI released photos and videos of a possible suspect outside Nancy’s home the night she vanished. The unsettling footage shows someone wearing a black ski mask, seemingly trying to get inside.
The person is seen grabbing plants from Nancy’s front yard and using them to block her security cameras.
Anonymous Tip Sparks Massive Search In Mexico
A group dedicated to finding missing people in Mexico reportedly launched a search for Nancy after receiving an anonymous tip claiming she may have been buried in an unmarked grave near the border.
Ramona Guadalupe Ayala Ortiz, leader of Buscando Corazones Nogales, said the group was contacted Wednesday (June 10), with information about the 84 year old.
The group allegedly searched the location provided by the tipster, an area where they had previously uncovered 25 unmarked graves. However, the initial search came up dry and the group did not find any signs of Nancy, Ayala Ortiz told El Imparcial.
“We received an anonymous call telling us that the woman’s [Guthrie’s] remains were in the Mariposa area — in a grave over a stream,” Ayala Ortiz said of the tip.
Despite the unsuccessful search, the group said it will continue conducting future operations in the area as they work to locate Nancy and help find other missing people.

Sheriff’s Department Releases Statement
On Thursday (June 11), the Pima County Sheriff’s Department released a statement following the report of the anonymous tip.
In the release, the PCSD said they were aware of the reports but noted that the department has not been contacted by Mexican authorities. You can read that statement below.
