Ashley Cooke made her acting debut on March 8, 2026, stepping in front of the camera as herself on the CBS drama Marshals.
The country singer appeared in Episode 2 of the Taylor Sheridan spinoff, titled “Zone of Death,” performing her song “Next to You” at a bar. The cameo marks a new frontier for Cooke, who joins a growing list of country artists crossing over into the Yellowstone universe of shows.
Cooke May Have Walked Away With a Souvenir
In an interview on Taste of Country Nights, Cooke revealed she held onto at least one memento from her time on set. “I’m pretty sure I took that outfit home from the set,” she said. “Yeah, I took that home. I think that was it.” When pressed on whether she had to sneak it out, Cooke stopped short of a full confession but offered a telling hint: “They are very particular about keeping stuff [from the set].”
Sheridan himself was not on set the day Cooke filmed her scene, though she noted she is a big admirer of his work and hopes to meet him one day — and potentially land another role in one of his productions.
Country Music’s Growing Presence in the Yellowstone Universe
Cooke’s appearance adds her name to an impressive roster of country artists who have found their way into Sheridan’s expanding television world. Lainey Wilson, Riley Green, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill have all appeared across Yellowstone, Marshals, and 1883. Beyond the Sheridan universe, Jelly Roll has taken on roles in Netflix’s Star Search reboot and appeared as himself in Fire Country in 2025, continuing to pursue television opportunities alongside his music career.
With Marshals now airing on CBS and fan interest in the Yellowstone franchise showing no signs of fading, Cooke’s cameo could well be the first of several acting appearances for the rising star.
