Later, the couple learned they were expecting again. Sadly, Hillary experienced a miscarriage. During that painful period, she turned her grief into music through her Grammy-winning song, “Thy Will.”
After that heartbreak, Hillary and Chris received joyful news. They welcomed identical twin daughters, Emory JoAnn and Betsy Mack, on January 29, 2018.
Hillary shared how emotional the experience was in an interview shortly after their birth.
“I wasn’t sure how identical they were gonna be because they are genetically identical, but they have different features,” Hillary told PEOPLE shortly after the twins were born. “It was a literal prayer — ‘Lord, please let me know how to tell them apart.‘”
The couple had always hoped for three children. That dream became reality with the twins.
On their sixth birthday, Hillary shared a loving message.
“I adore you both with every beat of my heart and cell in my body. Your Daddy, too. And Big Sister…she thinks ya’ll both hung the moon. Happy 6th Birthday Emory JoAnn and Betsy Mack.”
Hillary and Chris later welcomed another daughter, Selah Jean, on July 25, 2025.
John Osborne and Lucie Silvas’ IVF Journey With Twins
Brothers Osborne member John Osborne and his wife, singer-songwriter Lucie Silvas, shared an emotional path to parenthood.

The couple revealed they endured years of IVF treatments before receiving good news.
“We had an embryo transfer where we transferred two embryos thinking that would give us a better chance of getting one [baby], but we got two,” Lucie told the publication. “I think deep down, we were hoping for two.”
In 2022, they learned they were expecting twins. Lucie reflected on their mindset during that time.
“One thing I know for sure is that after such a long struggle, now that we’re here with twins, we have no idea what’s going to happen, but we want to celebrate every moment because you don’t want to spend your time worrying,” Lucie told PEOPLE.

Their twins, son Arthur and daughter Maybelle, were born one minute apart on March 21, 2023.
Although the babies spent time in the NICU, they were able to come home in early April. Since then, John and Lucie have shared occasional updates as the twins grow.
Chris Stapleton and His Surprise Twin Boys

After welcoming son Waylon in 2009 and daughter Ada in 2010, the couple learned they were expecting twins in 2017.
Chris later shared his reaction to the news.
“I think I laughed for about 20 minutes straight when they told us. I was just shocked,” he told TODAY‘s Willie Geist. “I didn’t know what else to do. … I was in shock.” Shocked is the only word.”
Morgane added her perspective.
“It wasn’t a laugh, it was more like a giggle. He giggled for like 25 minutes,” Morgane added.
The twins were born one month early. Reba McEntire announced their arrival live during the ACM Awards on April 15, 2018.
The couple has shared very little publicly about their twin sons, often reported to be named Macon and Samuel.
They later welcomed a fifth child, a son whose name remains private.
Chely Wright Welcomes Identical Twin Boys
Country singer Chely Wright and her wife, Lauren Blitzer, welcomed identical twin boys on May 18, 2013.
The twins were named George Samuel and Everett Joseph after their great-grandfathers.
Although the boys arrived earlier than expected, Chely shared they continued to grow stronger every day and were thriving.

The late Kenny Rogers was a father of five children. His youngest children were twin boys, Justin and Jordan.

He shared the twins with his fifth wife, Wanda. They were born on July 6, 2004, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Kenny once shared how emotional the news was for him.
“…when I was told it was twins, man, I was thrilled,” Rogers told The Independent in 2006. “So was Wanda. It wasn’t just ‘We are going to have a baby’ it was totally overwhelming.”
Justin and Jordan were only 15 years old when Kenny passed away in March 2020. They later graduated from high school in 2023.
Loretta Lynn and Her Surprise Twin Daughters
Loretta Lynn and her husband, Oliver “Doolittle” Lynn, welcomed six children together.

After four children, Loretta gave birth to twin daughters, Peggy and Patsy, on August 6, 1964.
Patsy was named after Loretta’s close friend, the late Patsy Cline.
In a blog post shared in 2022, Loretta revealed she did not know she was expecting twins until delivery.
“These two are the best and I wouldn’t trade ‘em for the world,” Loretta said. “So if I had it to do all over again, I’d tell Dr. Hasty that one more sounds about perfect to me. It turned out in this case that two really are better than one.”

Peggy and Patsy later formed a duo called The Lynns and earned CMA Award nominations.
Patsy also worked closely with her mother on Loretta’s final albums.
