Swifties demand Travis and Jason Kelce to bring Taylor Swift
Pop music fans desperately want to see Taylor Swift join the Travis and Jason Kelce podcast. For the uninitiated, the official Instagram page of the New Heights teased a surprise guest would appear on February 26. The announcement said: “92 %ers waiting for a new episode of New Heights… Don’t worry, we’re back on Wednesday with an awesome guest episode.”
While the possibility of the All Too Well crooner joining the show on Wednesday is slim, Taytay fans are “demanding” that the NFL stars bring the Grammy-winning singer on their podcast soon. Comments like “We need Taylor” and “When’s Taylor?” popped up pretty quickly on the announcement.
Previously, reports revealed a major boost that Taylor Swift fans brought to the NFL. Swift officially appeared to cheer for Travis Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium on September 24, 2023. The appearance triggered a nearly 400% hike in the tight end’s jersey sales.
A spokesperson for Fanatics, the NFL’s official e-commerce partner told Fortune: “On Sunday, Travis Kelce was one of the top five selling NFL players and saw a nearly 400% spike in sales throughout the Fanatics network of sites, including NFLShop.com.”
The New Heights host, Jason Kelce has also acknowledged the ‘Taylor Swift’ effect on the NFL and their podcast. The former Philadelphia Eagles star revealed at Cannes Lions, the ‘demography’ is shifting. From “hairy football fans” to “14-year-old girls,” Travis Kelce’s high-profile relationship brought the change.
Jason Kelce explained: “The fans and the viewers are such drivers of the content. They’re thirsty for things, and that helps us talk about things and helps us come up with a game plan. We’ve talked about things on the podcast that I don’t think we would have ever gotten to without the fans tuning in.”
The spike in New Heights’ subscribers also helped the NFL duo get more “deals.” The Tight End gushed: “With the show getting bigger, with me and him [Jason] getting bigger and more familiar, bigger brands and more opportunities come our way. It really has turned into something I could have never expected.”
