The Beginning of the Taylor Swift Engagement Proposal Journey

The two broke the news via Instagram early Tuesday morning (August 26). They shared a photo showing Travis down on one knee in the middle of a fairytale-like setting. The caption read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

After that reveal, fans began revisiting their journey. It began in July 2023, when Travis attended Taylor’s Eras Tour stop at Arrowhead Stadium. At the time, what started as a playful attempt by the Kansas City Chiefs tight end to give the singer a friendship bracelet with his phone number soon turned into one of the most high-profile celebrity relationships today.

“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” Travis admitted during an episode of his New Heights podcast.

 

By September 2023, the “Cruel Summer” singer appeared in Travis’ family suite during a Chiefs game. The sighting quickly fueled relationship rumors. Soon after, the couple confirmed the speculation with public outings, including a memorable Saturday Night Live afterparty.

“By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,” she later confirmed. “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

 

 

Taylor and Travis have remained relatively private about their personal life. They rarely post photos together on social media.
