Riley Green Continues To Become One Of Country Music’s Biggest Stars
Riley Green has become one of country music’s hottest and fastest growing stars over the past few years. The Alabama native first gained national attention with songs such as “There Was This Girl” and “I Wish Grandpas Never Died,” before establishing himself as one of the genre’s leading artists.
Green independently released a series of EPs between 2013 and 2017, building a grassroots fan base before signing with Big Machine Label Group in 2018.
The country star continued to rise to fame with the release of his debut album, “Different ‘Round Here.” The album featured the emotional hit “I Wish Grandpas Never Died,” a tribute to his late grandfathers that resonated with fans and became one of his signature songs.
Green was named the Academy of Country Music’s New Male Artist of the Year in 2020, and he has continued to climb the ranks in country music since.
While there was a time where fans believed Green and fellow country singer Megan Moroney were romantically together, neither star has confirmed or denied the claims.
Rumor has it that Green was also wooing his duet partner, Ella Langley, around the same time and there was a love triangle situation that happened. Again, nobody has confirmed or denied anything.
As far as we know, Green is currently single, but that isn’t preventing him from thinking about future family plans. In a recent interview with Billboard, Green opened up what he hopes fatherhood may look like for him one day.
Riley Green Opens Up About His Hopes Regarding Fatherhod In The Future
As far as having children goes, Green admits that he thinks “about it a lot.”
“At this point in my life, I don’t know how I could do it. So things are going to have to slow down and get a little bit more of a sense of normalcy before I could really think about settling down and having a family,” he says. “But it’s definitely something I’d like to do and I’m somewhat excited about where my songwriting would go with that much of a change in my life, too.”
Green says for now, he’s enjoying this chapter of his life and remains focused on his career while keeping an open mind about what the future may hold.
“I know that it will end at some point. I mean, it’s such a battle to stay relevant in this world,” he says. “I’ve got more opportunity now than I’ve ever had. There will come a time when it’s not that case. So it’s just keep your foot on the gas as long as you can.”
