Hank Williams Jr. has postponed a pair of Michigan concerts originally scheduled for July 17th and 18th, citing hazardous air quality driven by smoke from Canadian wildfires.
The Country Music Hall of Famer made the announcement on Friday, July 17th, pulling two outdoor shows — one at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston and one at Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids — from the weekend calendar. Both cities were recording dangerous air quality index readings at the time of the decision: Clarkston’s AQI stood at 349 and Grand Rapids logged 422, both firmly in the “hazardous” range. At that level, The Weather Channel warns that “everyone may experience more serious health effects.” The artist cited “an abundance of caution” as the reason for the call.
Current AQI values still reading in the “hazardous for everyone” category for many due to wildfire smoke stationary over the state as of 10:09 am EDT 7/17/26. Both shows have been rescheduled — Pine Knob moves to Thursday, August 13th, and Acrisure Amphitheater shifts to Friday, August 14th. Tickets purchased for the original dates will be honored at the new ones. Sammy Kershaw and Mary Kutter were slated to support Williams Jr. on the original Michigan dates; whether they will join him for the rescheduled performances has not been confirmed.
A Busy Road Ahead for Hank Jr.
Williams Jr., who turned 77 on May 26th, returns to the road on July 31st at BankNH Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire, followed by a stop in Bangor, Maine, on August 1st. After the rescheduled Michigan dates in mid-August, he has four September performances lined up, with his 2026 tour wrapping at the Morton Amphitheater in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 19th.
Supporting acts appearing on select dates throughout the run include Sammy Kershaw, Mary Kutter, Joe Nichols, Mark Wills, Dalton Davis, Colton Dawson, and American Idol runner-up John Foster.
Michigan fans now have two new dates to mark on their calendars, and the full 2026 tour schedule is available on Williams Jr.’s official website.
