Summer Pardi filed for divorce from country star Jon Pardi on May 12, 2026, court records confirm, capping a brutal stretch that also brought a cancer diagnosis for her father just days earlier.
The filing, submitted in Davidson County, Tennessee, marked the formal start of legal proceedings for the couple, who married in 2020 after meeting through a mutual connection in 2017. Jon was served with the divorce complaint on May 13. The two share daughters Presley Fawn, age 3, and Sienna Grace, age 2, and their joint statement emphasized co-parenting as the priority going forward.
After much thought, we have made the difficult decision to end our marriage. Our daughters will always remain our highest priority, and we are committed to moving forward with love and respect as co-parents.
A Father’s Diagnosis Comes First
Less than 24 hours before that announcement went public, Summer had already shared deeply personal news of a different kind. She reposted a message from her father, Larry Duncan, disclosing that he had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer originating in plasma cells within the bone marrow that the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation describes as highly manageable.
Duncan explained in his original post that the diagnosis came after what began as a back injury sustained in a tractor accident. Months of persistent pain led doctors to discover multiple bone fractures and bulging discs, and further testing ultimately uncovered the cancer, which had been silently compromising his bones.
Summer addressed the news directly on her Instagram Stories. “A little life update on my dad… I know everyone on here loves him dearly, even those who don’t know him personally. He’s a special guy, and he’s gonna kick cancer’s ass,” she wrote.
Two Difficult Revelations in One Week
The convergence of her father’s diagnosis and the public divorce announcement within the same 24-hour window made for an extraordinarily difficult moment, and the legal filing itself had come only days before. As the divorce proceedings continue in Davidson County, Summer and her family are managing both personal loss and serious illness simultaneously — with two young daughters at the center of it all.
