Jon Pardi and his wife Summer are ending their marriage after five and a half years together, the couple confirmed in a joint statement released Friday, July 3.
The country singer and Summer, who wed on November 21, 2020, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, share two young daughters — Presley, born February 18, 2023, and Sienna, born July 16, 2024. The announcement marks the close of a relationship that began in 2017, when a mutual connection set the two up after Summer, then working as a hairdresser, was introduced to Pardi through a client who knew his mother.
The Split: What the Couple Said
“After much thought, we have made the difficult decision to end our marriage,” the joint statement reads. “Our daughters will always remain our highest priority and we are committed to moving forward with love and respect as co-parents.” The statement also extended gratitude to fans for their “understanding, support and respect.”
Davidson County Court records tell a fuller timeline: Summer filed the initial divorce complaint on May 12, and Pardi was served with the paperwork the following day, roughly two months before the public announcement. Despite that, as recently as Mother’s Day in May, Pardi had posted a tribute to Summer on social media, calling her “Super Mom.”
Following the announcement, Pardi addressed fans directly through an Instagram Stories post, saying he would be stepping back from social media “to focus on myself and my family,” before adding, “I’ll see you at the shows.”
How the Relationship Began
The two first connected in 2017 when one of Summer’s hairdressing clients — a friend of Pardi’s mother — made the introduction. Pardi invited her to a show in Denver, Colorado, and Summer later told People that the chemistry was immediate: “Within the first five minutes of meeting Jon, it was game over for me. I texted my mom, ‘Sell my house, sell my car, send my dog.'” Pardi described the feeling as mutual, telling People, “She was the first girl I’ve ever dated where I felt like she had my back and that we really were a team.”
He proposed in October 2019 during a performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, and the couple married the following year. Pardi’s next scheduled concert date is July 8 in Cincinnati, Ohio — his first public appearance since the divorce news broke.
