Charley Crockett’s Facebook and Instagram accounts appear to have gone dark just days after the outlaw country artist publicly removed Satanic doo-wop duo Twin Temple from two upcoming shows.
The deactivations come roughly a week after Twin Temple announced late last week that Crockett had withdrawn his invitation for the duo to open stops in Oregon and California. In the immediate aftermath, Crockett remained vocal on social media, posting to both Facebook and Instagram to defend his position. “I won’t conform and I’m not sorry,” he wrote in a July 10 post. By July 15, however, both platforms were returning “content isn’t available right now” messages on his accounts. His X profile similarly appears to have been made private or deleted, based on the automated message visitors receive. His TikTok account remained active as of July 16.
Crockett Continues Touring Despite the Controversy
The social media silence has not kept Crockett off the road. Video footage shared on Instagram confirms he performed his scheduled date in Troutdale, Oregon on July 16 — one of the two shows originally set to feature Twin Temple. He was also slated to play Bend, Oregon that same evening.
Twin Temple Lands High-Profile Opportunities After Removal
Twin Temple, who have billed themselves as a “Satanic doo-wop act” since forming in 2017 and blend ’50s and ’60s rock with Satanic imagery and lyrics, appear to have landed on their feet following the split. Jack White extended an invitation for the duo to open his September 29 show at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. They are also set to open six dates for Danzig, beginning September 11 in San Antonio, Texas.
Beyond the new bookings, Twin Temple announced a fourth full-length studio album, Doomed Lovers, due October 9. The title track is currently streaming on major platforms. The album’s arrival, alongside a string of dates with two high-profile rock acts, gives the duo considerable momentum heading into the fall.
